10 Things I Regret Not Seeing In Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of the most electric cities in the world, and although I have travelled to Holland twice in my life there are a few things that I didn’t do/see that I regret.

1# Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam
Hortus Botanicus is one of the oldest botanical gardens in existence today with a beautiful hexagonal pavilion.

2# Jordaan District
The Hip & happening part of Amsterdam (can you get anymore hip?) Jordaan the home to café’s, boutiques and vintage warehouses in beautiful 17th century architecture.

3# De Pijp
De Pijp is the home for one of Amsterdam’s famous street Market, The Albert Cuyp. De Pijp is full of 19th Century Architecture and is located only 1 mile south of the city centre.

4# Skybar
The Skybar is not only is a hotel rooftop bar but it has the best view in the while of Amsterdam. The bar serves small bites to eat and full meals. And a large variety of alcohol.

5# Floating flower market
Bloemenmarkt is the only floating market in the world, basically flowers are sold from stalls on house boats.

6# Picnic in vondelpark a park
Vondelpark is situated near Rijksmuseum which is near central Amsterdam, and is filled with open air museums, ponds and playgrounds. I visited Vondelpark the last time I visited Amsterdam but it was winter and sitting in -2 degrees is not ideal.

7# Visit a beach
Amsterdam is famous for its canals but if you take a 30 minute train journey from the city center you will come to a beach called Zandvoort which borders the North Sea.

8# Plan a day trip to Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans is a Dutch neighborhood in the town on Zaandam which is in North Holland. Green wooden houses and historic windmills were relocated here to recreate the look of an 18th century village.

9# The Hash, Marijuana and Hemp museum
The name of this museum kind of explains itself but the museum aims to teach people how helpful Hash, Marijuana and Hemp was in past civilization. There is also an indoor cannabis garden located in the museum.

10# Anne Frank House The Anne Frank House is probably the most famous tourist attraction there is in Amsterdam. You will have the experience of seeing Anne Frank’s actual diary, a reconstruction of her bedroom and annex.

  4. I have visited most of the places you want to visit. They are, indeed, something not to miss. My personal favourite was the Anne Frank museum. It is filled with so much history and it teaches you so much about the world amd yourself. Do visit it on your next trip there 🤗
